  • Wow….It’s been 6 months…6 month’s since I’ve taken the time to sit here and write and I apologize to everyone…. I’m not even sure anyone reads these but oh well. I’ll write anyways. My last post on here was in February and a lot has happened since then. Not that I owe anyone an explanation, but man life has just been busy. It’s been really difficult to stop and smell the roses and take a break. I feel like I can best communicate when I write. Even if I’m writing to myself.

In February one of my very close friends died and that sent me back and into a depressive state. My old college roommate Jon passed away unexpectedly from a widow’s maker heart attack at 36 years old. He left behind two beautiful girls and a lovely wife. I’m thankful I was in a position to help them out and know that his family is taken care of. Going through that was really rough for me because I had just saw him and showed him the barn, and shared some dreams and ideas I had with him…Jon was very instrumental in my transitioning from my teenage life into adulthood. He really was man who cared a lot about others and taught me alot about myself and how to really think critically. I miss him alot…But I’m thankful for Jon’s fellowship and his friendship and glad his memory will live on. And I’m very happy I got to see him before he passed away…

In April I transferred to a new area for work and that has been very exciting. They have been keeping me busy, and I’ve really enjoyed it the past few months working in Orlando and patrolling the area. It has it challenges just like any other job, but I really am happy and thankful and glad I only have to work 8 hour days instead of 12 hours a day. Obviously being a cop (STATE TROOPER BIG HAT ENERGY) has its challenges, but I can honestly say I go to work with a good mindset every day, but man am I tired. I need break.

But if you were to really ask me how I was doing I would tell you I’m struggling. Not in a way that would cause a concern, but man I’m really struggling emotionally and spiritually. I feel there is this battle inside me where there’s a push sending me in one direction when I want to go in another direction. The battle between good and evil and its like I’ve entered into survival mode. It’s this constant battle almost like a war inside you constantly fighting. I know I’m not the only one who deals with this or struggles with this internally. I know someone of you who read this know exactly what I’m talking about. Like I just want to disappear. I want to find a horse, go into the wilderness, and just live off the land for a while. No phone, no people, no anything. Just away from society for a bit. I want to dissociate from reality for a bit.

My relationship with God lately has been terrible…and I feel like I’m the biggest let down to Him all the time. I made a comment the other day that was along the lines of “I’m tired of God” and not in a way where I reject my faith but I’m really just ready to give up (not in a suicidal way of course let me just put that out there) but like giving up on my emotions and dreaming. Like I just want to not have to think anymore…I know you shouldn’t give up on your dreams but sometimes you have to be real with yourself and split reality versus the dream world. I don’t know, maybe I’m just thinking out loud when I say that because I have so much to be thankful for and I don’t want to make it seem like I’m not thankful for or content with my life. I really am blessed. But I’m tired. I just want to rest my mind. And I know some of you out there reading this feel the same way and I truly hope that we could really discuss this in a healthy way that allows us to communicate and not feel alone. And honestly this damn social media is what that makes us feel this way! All this information we consume daily on our stupid phones causes all this nonsense to go on in our minds. We constantly compare our life to a stupid 30 second reel and wish we had what they had on the screen when in reality it’s all a show…. Take me back to the 90’s where we had dial up internet and no social media and cellphones that would answer calls and text. Or where people would communicate not through phones…I don’t know, I’m just tired. I want to rest and work on myself to make myself better.

Any who here’s the last photo of Jon and I before he passed. I was truly thankful for those moments. And here’s a video of me ripping around I4 on my motorcycle today. Yes, I got a bike on April fool’s day and man it’s been such a relaxing thing for me. Granted it’s not a horse, but it’ll do for now. It’s also kind of nice to know that the roadways/interstate I patrol I get to enjoy too.

    Until next time – Mike

I initially was going to head out to Seminole County on the bike, but there were thunderstorms moving east so I decided to turn around at State Road 44 and head back.
Nothing like a good ol Publix in Florida that smells like weed in Daytona Beach LOL. Worked 5 days and now it’s time to relax with some adult beverages and a good freaking motorcycle.

  • You already know where this is going. If ya’ll haven’t seen K Pop Demon Hunters yet I HIGHLY suggest you do. K Pop Demon Hunters is streaming on Netflix (and if you don’t have Netflix I’m sure you can find another place to watch it). This movie has taken the internet by storm. I mean like a hurricane! Since I saw it, I’d figure I’d write about it. Nothing too drastic or dramatic, just something I’d figure I’d jot down and give my quick two cents on.

I saw it the other night with the family and I did not think it was going to be this good. Boy was I wrong. The animations, the music, the singing, the story line were all mesmerizing. And quite frankly, as an adult, I really do not care that I enjoyed watching the movie and singing along to the songs. It’s a much-needed break from all the negativity in the world that’s going on right now. Yes, there’s still important issues to deal with, with real world events and consequences happening, but it’s nice to take a break and relax from all the drama. It’s also nice to see the kids laughing and enjoying themselves with some good clean fun. Now I will agree there is an absolute out of control obsession with movies like these and with people who take it to the absolute extreme level, but for the most part we can keep it under control. I don’t plan to go much further with it except to listen to the soundtrack while I’m at work.

One of the main reasons I really enjoyed this movie was because it’s something positive and uplifting for the kids and adults to enjoy together. There are no hidden messages or secretive motives hidden that try to harm kids or warp their minds. Just a battle between good and evil and the battle with yourself. And in the end, good wins. There’s a big deep message that we could dive into about, but honestly, I’ll save that for another time. I just wanted to write a quick blurb about it. And with that, I leave you with Golden! I hope it stays stuck in your head!

Have you seen the movie yet? Did you like it? Vote yes or no below

  • The Captain’s Blog – where exactly did I get this from? Well, if you’re a Star Trek fan you certainly know about the U.S.S Enterprise and their crazy adventures. You know the lines: “Captain’s Log, stardate 12345.45” (I personally read that in Jean-Luc Picard’s voice as I happen to enjoy Star Trek: The Next Generation the best out of the entire series). So yes, I happen to be a “trekkie” and enjoyed watching Star Trek. I also happened to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves as an Officer for 11 years. I made it to the rank of Captain (O-3) so it only seemed fitting and appropriate to name this blog just that. But we’ll discuss that journey later on.

So you may wonder why I chose to write this blog? Maybe you didn’t. Maybe I’m just talking to myself but that’s just fine with me. I wanted to create a space where I can honestly write my thoughts down and express them in a way that engages critical thinking. More so along the lines from a biblical perspective/biblical worldview. I want to talk about things that are pressing on my heart with hopes that you the reader can learn from them and I learn from you. And I’m not talking about pointless discussions, I’m talking about deep intelligent thinking. Deep Deep Deep subjects. Discussions that cultivate an environment where we are not just some zombified people doom scrolling along social media, but engaging – My hope and prayer is to write at least once a week. See where this goes and where it can possibly lead to.

  • Happy October 1st! So, this is the first post that I’ve created on here. I’ve been feeling as if I need to express my thoughts down through writing and such. I’m no author (well not yet) but I do want to turn this into something professional eventually. I’m a much better writer than I am a speaker. So I ask please bear with me as I navigate this site and to try to get everything situated lol.
