The Captain’s Blog – where exactly did I get this from? Well, if you’re a Star Trek fan you certainly know about the U.S.S Enterprise and their crazy adventures. You know the lines: “Captain’s Log, stardate 12345.45” (I personally read that in Jean-Luc Picard’s voice as I happen to enjoy Star Trek: The Next Generation the best out of the entire series). So yes, I happen to be a “trekkie” and enjoyed watching Star Trek. I also happened to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves as an Officer for 11 years. I made it to the rank of Captain (O-3) so it only seemed fitting and appropriate to name this blog just that. But we’ll discuss that journey later on.
So you may wonder why I chose to write this blog? Maybe you didn’t. Maybe I’m just talking to myself but that’s just fine with me. I wanted to create a space where I can honestly write my thoughts down and express them in a way that engages critical thinking. More so along the lines from a biblical perspective/biblical worldview. I want to talk about things that are pressing on my heart with hopes that you the reader can learn from them and I learn from you. And I’m not talking about pointless discussions, I’m talking about deep intelligent thinking. Deep Deep Deep subjects. Discussions that cultivate an environment where we are not just some zombified people doom scrolling along social media, but engaging – My hope and prayer is to write at least once a week. See where this goes and where it can possibly lead to.
